Tosa Restaurant Week kicks off Thursday
Faroe Island salmon. Lamb shank. Grilled Hawaiian butterfish with ponzu butter.
You can get these entrees, and many others, at a special price during Tosa Restaurant Week.
Twelve Wauwatosa restaurants are participating in the event, which will be held Thursday through March 13.
“Our goal is to drive visitors to come to Wauwatosa, support our local small businesses, our restaurants and, of course, enjoy some delicious menu options,” said Eva Ennamorato, the city communications manager.
Restaurant Week will feature five dining options for customers eating at participating restaurants: the $8 tidbit, $10 breakfast, $15 three-course lunch, $25 three-course dinner and $35 threecourse dinner.
Ennamorato said part of the motivation behind the event, which is being hosted by Discover Wauwatosa, is to support businesses hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic.
The event will also highlight the variety of food options available in Wauwatosa.
“The week is also about highlighting the variety of cuisine options in our area — and there’s really quite a bit — so we wanted a way to promote all those options,” Ennamorato said.
This is the first Tosa Restaurant Week, but it’ll likely become an annual event, according to Ennamorato.
Plate Pleasures Eatery, 2330 N. 124th St., is one of the participating restaurants. Owner Mia Redmond focuses on homestyle, Southern and soul foods. She makes everything from scratch.
Redmond opened the restaurant in August 2020, just months after the start of the pandemic.
She hopes participating in the event will help connect her with the community.
“I believe in supporting my community, and I’m hoping that the community continues to support our business,” Redmond said.
