Ednamae Buretta

(nee O’Brien) Passed away peacefully, at home with family. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 7, 1927, to the late William and Mary Alice (Fox) O’Brien. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Buretta. Edna grew up in Mauston, Wisconsin, attending St. Patrick’s Catholic School and graduating from Mauston High School in 1945. Her career included over 25 years with General Motors (AC Spark Plug / Delco), notably working with the engineers that developed the guidance system for the NASA Apollo project. She dedicated herself to volunteer work with her parish of over 60 years, St. Stephen Catholic Church in Oak Creek, WI. Survivors include her daughter, Barbara; son, Robert W. (Beth); her grandchild­ren, Geralyn, Adam (Michelle), and Christophe­r (Brooke); greatgrand­children, Adam M., Kateri, and Lincoln; her sisters, Rosemary Schwab, Catherine Murray, and Judy (Sam) Schelble. She is further survived by cousins, many nieces and nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Alice; her parents-in-law, Jerome and Irene Buretta; and her brothers-in-law, William Schwab, Maurice Murray, Carl (Ruth) Buretta, and George (Florence Mott) Buretta. Edna loved God, her family, and her friends. She enjoyed nothing more than gathering with the people in her life, often generously serving them with food, attention, and her time. When separated, they were always in her prayers. Visitation and a funeral mass will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church (1441 West Oakwood Road, Oak Creek, WI 53154) on Saturday, March 12. Visitation 11:30am to 12:45pm, Mass at 1:00 pm, and interment at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery (6380 S. Howell Ave., Oak Creek, WI 53154) following mass.
