Alan Lucas Richards

FORT WORTH - Alan Lucas Richards passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, April 26. He was 79.

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Alan was the son of Alfred and Angela Unger Richards. He served in the U.S army in Korea from 1966-1969 and went onto work at Allen Bradley in the IT department retiring from the company after 36 years of service.

Alan was a pillar of his community, St. Francis, Wisconsin, volunteering his time with various organizations and city-wide committees. He served as Mayor from 2004 to 2012 and was recognized as Citizen of the Year in 1991

Alan married his wife, Joanne Carol Tilley, on July 17, 1971; he and Joanne have two children, Tiffany and Marc.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister and brothers-inlaw, Hylda and Karl Kachigan, and Joe Jardas. Alan never met a stranger; he will be greatly missed!

In addition to his wife, Joanne, Alan is survived by his children, Tiffany Ann Richards, and Marc Alan Richards and his wife, Sherrie; his sister, Julie Richards Jardas; brother-in-law, John Tilley and his wife, Jill; many nieces, nephews, friends, and people, who loved and cared for him.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3621 Tulsa Way, in Fort Worth, followed by Military Honors at 1:30 p.m. at Dallas - Fort Worth National Cemetery. A Celebration of His Life will be held in St. Francis, Wisconsin at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 24, at the St. Francis Lions Center.

Memorials: Alan was devoted to his community, his family suggests that in lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the St. Francis Veteran’s Memorial or the St. Francis Days Commission, in his memory, may be made.
