Four Leaf Roofing and Windows

-

Q. Joe, you’ve been in the roofing and window business a long time — since you were a teenager! Today your company, Four Leaf Roofing and Windows, is among the most reputable in the area. What sets you apart? A. It starts with caring about our community and our customers. We’re grateful for each and every one of them. We want them to have such a good experience that our work will speak for itself, and they’ll speak about our work to their friends. The next thing is craftsmanship, something I appreciate because our communities were built by true crafts people. A lot of companies work fast and don’t focus on quality, but we do just the opposite. We teach our crews and staff to take pride in their work, to do everything with precision and purpose. And last but not least is the materials we choose to work with. We don’t settle for the cheapest off-the-shelf solution because it will cost more in the long run when it wears out quickly or performs poorly. Over many years of experience with Wisconsin’s weather and building stock, we know what works best, and we don’t cut corners.

Q. Can you say more about the materials you use and why? Let’s start with roofing materials. A. That’s one of my favorite topics because I’m so enthusiastic about the brand of shingles we use. We use Atlas StormMaster Shake and Atlas Pinnacle Pristine shingles for the vast majority of our roofing jobs. They’re made with 3M Scotchgard Protector and they’re the only algae-resistant shingles on the market. Your roof is 100% guaranteed not to get those green or black streaks if you use Atlas shingles. They are also very durable and reliable because they are hail-resistant and wind-resistant. Four Leaf is certified by Atlas and 3M, which means we have passed their qualifying tests and we know what we are doing when we install them.

Q. How about gutters? A. We use heavy-gauge aluminum seamless gutters and downspouts. We cut and bend the gutters on-site to ensure an accurate custom fit for your roof. This is an important step to ensure they won’t leak or cause problems in a few years. We make sure we do it right the first time. We install GutterRx and Leaf Guard gutter guards because of their durability, fit, appearance and reliability. Both are seamless, custom-fit systems, and GutterRx is made from 98% recycled aluminum.

Q. Selecting a contractor can be difficult. What advice do you for someone trying to decide who to hire? A. I’m a big believer in first impressions, which is why everyone at Four Leaf wears branded uniforms and why we are polite, respectful and professional. So, I suggest starting with that. Are they listening to you or are they just trying to sell to you? Do they look and behave professionally? Did they go on your roof, take photos and show what they saw? Did they look in your attic space and garage? Also, check that they have the following:

• Valid Wisconsin contractor’s license

• Certificate of Insurance showing proper coverages and you as a certificate holder

• Manufacturer certifications

• Reviews on Google, Facebook, Roofing Insights and Thumbtack

• Relationships with reputable suppliers such as ABC SUPPLY or Beacon
