Age 93. Was called home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday June 18th, 2022, surrounded by his family who loved him very much. He was born on November 18, 1928, in Chicken, Alaska, and along with his two brothers, was raised in Fairfield, Iowa by their grandparents. Prior to graduating from Cornell College in Iowa, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. After moving to Oak Park, Illinois for his first job out of college, he met and married his wife Judie and together they had three sons. In 1970 they moved to Brookfield, Wisconsin which became their final home. He was many things – a military veteran, nationally-ranked college wrestler, semi-pro football player, state-ranked tennis player, tennis umpire, Brookfield Alderman, and Actuary, but most important he was a kind, loving, and generous dad to his family whose integrity, work ethic, honesty, awesome sense of humor, and love for everyone has left a lasting legacy. Preceded in death by his dear wife Judie and oldest brother Paul (Bev). He will be dearly missed by his three sons Dave (Marion), Bruce (Mary Jean), and Scott (Carrie), his grandchildren Noah, Hannah, Jonathan, Caroline, Andrew, Jeffrey, and Julianne, his youngest brother Jim (Gretchen), all of his Dallas and Denver relatives, his buddies from the OFC, long-time Chicago friends, and all of his tennis friends from the Western Racquet, Elm Grove, and Brookfield Tennis Clubs. A graveside memorial service with military honors will be held on Monday June 27th at 10:30am at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield, Wisconsin, please meet in the red parking area. The family would like to thank the staff at Dickson-Hollow Retirement Community in Menomonee Falls, Franciscan Place in Brookfield, and St. Croix Hospice Care for their care and love for dad. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin.
