AREA RANKINGS PLAYER OF THE WEEK Danny Staskunas, West Allis Central/Hale

The senior setter had a busy week as both the West Allis Central/Hale setter and the starting quarterbac­k for Hale in its 28-27 loss at home to Menomonee Falls. Staskunas dished out a total of 70 assists along with 13 kills and 11 aces in a loss to Wauwatosa West and a victory over Pius XI. To cap his week, Staskunas also went 26 for 39 for 392 yards and three touchdown passes.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Wauwatosa East

The top two teams in our rankings had the weekend off, but our new No. 3 team had a productive weekend. Tosa East won the Whitefish Bay Invite by defeating Waukesha West, Middleton, the host Blue Dukes and Catholic Memorial on their way to the tournament title.

COMING UP

South Milwaukee United at Pewaukee, 6:30 p.m. Wednesday: The Woodland Conference has two unbeaten teams in New Berlin United and South Milwaukee United. Pewaukee sits right behind those two programs at 4-1 in confermatc­h ence play heading into Wednesday's matchup. If Greenfield can upset New Berlin United on Wednesday, Pewaukee can force a three-way tie atop the conference.

Arrowhead at Mukwonago, 7 p.m. Wednesday: This could be the premier of the week with No. 2 Arrowhead traveling to No. 8 Mukwonago in a meeting of unbeaten Classic 8 Conference programs.

Kenosha Indian Trail at Franklin, 6:30 p.m. Thursday: Here's another matchup of unbeaten conference foes squaring off, these two for the outright lead in the Southeast Conference. Franklin has won six straight matches, while Kenosha Indian Trail has won six of its last eight.

Wilmot at Union Grove, 6:30 p.m.

Thursday: The Southern Lakes Conference title is still up for grabs and unbeaten Union Grove can move a step closer with a pair of victories this week against winless Waterford on Wednesday and then against 4-1 Wilmot the next night. The host Broncos have won their last eight matches, while Wilmot has won six of seven.
