GREENDALE - David E. Lynch, a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, great-grandfathe­r, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2023, in Franklin, Wisconsin. Born on October 16, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, David was known for his intelligen­ce, humor, and loving nature. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

David was the beloved husband of Joanne (Hagberg) Lynch, with whom he shared 66 years of marriage. He was a devoted father to his son Kevin (Heidi) Lynch and was predecease­d by his two sons Michael (the late Cindy) Lynch and David James Lynch. David was a proud grandpa to James (Kellie) Lynch and Samantha (Cord) Hansen and great-grandpa to Elena, Elliott, Ethan, Harper, and Brooks. He is also survived by his siblings Kenneth (Joan) Lynch and Bonnie (the late Jerry) Chesky, and was preceded in death by his sister Irene (the late Bill) Long, sister Kathleen (the late Bob) Brodhagen and by his sister-in-law Arlene Lynch. Survived by many nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. He was the son of the late David and Henrietta Lynch.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, David earned a degree in Mechanical Engineerin­g. Longtime valued employee of 39 years at Bucyrus-Erie. David was known for his award-winning drill design. He proudly served in the United States Army.

David was an active member of the Greendale Community Church. A former pack leader of Cub Scout Troop 506.

One of David’s favorite pastimes was spending time with his family at their cottage, fishing on Lake Buckatabon.

Visitation will be held at the Max Sass Funeral Home-Mission Hills Chapel on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 4 PM until time of service at 6 PM. He will be laid to rest at Wisconsin Memorial Park Cemetery.
