Gerald G. Kieweg

ROME - Gerald G. Kieweg, age 83, of Rome, WI passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Aspirus Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.

A memorial service will be held at Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on Thursday, August 31, 2023, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Military honors will be held at the funeral home following the service.

Gerald was born on April 24, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI to Edmund and Mary (Javorek) Kieweg. Gerald met the love of his life Shirley Stolte, his grade school sweetheart, and they were married on July 2, 1960, in Milwaukee, WI.

Gerald worked for Caterpillar as a machinist and then Cequent “Fulton” as a supervisor. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. from 1960 to 1964.

Gerald was a man that was always on the move putzing or tinkering with something. He enjoyed being outside tending to his yard, golfing, or fishing. Gerald found joy in watching the Packers, Badgers, and Brewers. He was someone who could make friends easily and loved to socialize. Gerald couldn’t wait for his milkshakes from his grandchild, Logan. His favorite thing in life was his family. Gerald will be deeply missed by them all.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Shirley Kieweg; children, Ken Kieweg, Kevin (Jill) Kieweg, Scott (Shelly) Kieweg; grandchildren, Courtney (Scott) Duvall, Josh (Ciara) Kieweg, Aaron (Lexie) Kieweg, Logan Kieweg, Sydney (Ricky) Radford, Giselle Kieweg; great grandchildren, Cameron, Davian, Jameson and many extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jim Kieweg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations will be made by the Kieweg family to the Cancer Society and St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspirus Cancer Center for their kindness, compassion, and amazing care they provided.
