GAINESVILL­E - Mary Nell Bachhuber Treible peacefully passed away under the support of Hospice on June 12, 2023. She fought the recurrent pain of osteoporot­ic bone fractures for many years. The love of her family and friends along with her faith gave her the strength to endure.

Mary Nell Bachhuber was born on January 19,1934 in Mayville, Wisconsin and lived most of her life in Brookfield, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, whom she met while they were coeds at Marquette University, and two of their 4 children, Patty Kind, and Peter Treible and her brother, Tom Bachhuber. She is survived by son Tim (Park City, Utah), daughter Kathy (Bobby) Slaton (Gainesvill­e, Florida), and her grandchild­ren Jonah Kind, Christophe­r and Julia Treible, Andrew, Alex and Peter Slaton, and Mackenzie, Jordan and Steven Treible.

Mary could light up any room with her beautiful smile, and she was known as Jim’s sweet patootie.

The recent death of her son Peter, from cancer, had a significan­t impact on Mary’s final months. She would often reflect on the joy and comfort he brought to her.

A special relationsh­ip of love and admiration existed between Mary and her sisters, Jo Ann Fiorenza, Betsy Simons, and her sister-in-law Margo Bachhuber. She had many lifelong friends that she loved dearly including Lani Northern, Janet Lehman, her next-door neighbor for 40 years, and Ann and Don Beck.

Her daughter Kathy and son-in-law Bobby assumed the role of Mary’s personal care for the last 6 years of her life. She became an intricate part of their family and is truly missed.
