Herd roster has big names
The Milwaukee Bucks' G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, announced its 18-person training camp roster Monday, and it's headlined by some familiar names.
The Oshkosh-based club will bring back former Dominican High School star Alex Antetokounmpo, who played 32 games for the Herd last season. The Herd also has Glenn Robinson III on the camp roster. The seven-year NBA veteran is the son of former Bucks all-star Glenn Robinson and is trying to get back in the league after last playing in 2021.
Former Bucks player Beno Udrih is the new head coach of the Herd.
Former Gonzaga star Drew Timme, who signed a training camp deal with the Bucks after going undrafted, is getting another shot with the Herd. Timme was cut during camp but appeared in all four summer league games and two preseason contests. He helped the Bucks win their preseason opener against Chicago with a late put-back.
Jazian Gortman, also an undrafted rookie the Bucks brought to camp, is on the roster too.
Along with the Bucks' three two-way players of Lindell Wigginton, TyTy Washington Jr. and Marques Bolden, the rest of the Herd training camp roster is as follows: Yor Anei, center; Ibou Badji, center; Kihei Clark, guard; Wenyen Gabrielf, forward; Edward Gray, guard; Hassane Gueye, forward; Elijah Hughes, forward; Iverson Molinar, guard; Sam Peek, guard; Anthony Tarke, forward; and Stevie Thompson Jr., guard.

The NFL has reportedly threatened legal action against the University of Houston for its Oilers-inspired alternate uniforms, demanding the football team to stop wearing them.
The league sent a cease-and-desist letter to the university, the Houston Chronicle reported, arguing the uniforms were "blatant copying" of the Oilersinspired jerseys. The NFL also demanded the university discontinue sales of merchandise related to the uniforms and remove any campaigns or social media posts that feature the uniforms.
The Cougars revealed the new uniforms on Aug. 31, which include a baby blue jersey with red accents, white pants with baby blue and white stripes down the side. and "Houston" on the helmet in baby blue, outlined in red with baby blue and red stripes running down the center.
Giants trade Williams: The struggling New York Giants have traded defensive end Leonard Williams to the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks for a pair of draft picks, according to a person with knowledge of the trade.
The person said the Giants will receive a secondround draft choice in 2024 and a fifth-rounder in 2025 for Williams, who had a $32 million salary cap hit this season, the highest on the team.
Giants QB back: New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been cleared for contact and is expected to action this week against the Las Vegas Raiders, according to an individual with knowledge of the situation.Jones has missed the last three games due to a neck injury.

FIFA banned ousted former Spanish soccer federation president Luis Rubiales from the sport for three years on Monday for misconduct at the Women's World Cup final where he forcibly kissed a player on the lips at the trophy ceremony.
FIFA disciplinary committee judges had investigated charges relating to “basic rules of decent conduct” and “behaving in a way that brings the sport of football and/or FIFA into disrepute.”
Rubiales also is under criminal investigation in Spain for kissing player Jenni Hermoso on the lips after the team's 1-0 victory over England on Aug. 20 in Sydney, Australia. He denied wrongdoing to a judge in Madrid who imposed a restraining order for Rubiales not to contact Hermoso.
COLLEGE BASKETBALL
Cooper Flagg, the nation's consensus top player in the 2024 recruiting class, announced Monday that he will play his college basketball at Duke.
The 6-foot-9 small forward from Maine, who plays at Montverde Academy in Florida, had also been considering defending national champion UConn. His decision comes just ahead of the NCAA's early signing period, which begins Nov. 8.
Flagg's commitment continues Jon Scheyer's hot recruiting to start his coaching tenure. Duke was No. 1 in the 247 Sports rankings for the Class of 2022.
TENNIS
Americans Ben Shelton and Frances Tiafoe lost in the first round of the Paris Masters on Monday.
The 14th-seeded Tiafoe fell to Alexander Bublik 6-3, 6-4 while 15th-seeded Shelton was undone by Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-3.
Shelton hit 15 aces but could not recover from the only break of serve in the decider.
Also, Alex de Minaur saved one match point and rallied from 5-2 down in the third set to beat 2016 champion Andy Murray 7-6 (5), 4-6, 7-5.
