MILWAUKEE - Carl Brzeski passed away on February 26, 2024 in Milwaukee at the age of 89.

Carl was born in Milwaukee on June 3, 1934. He graduated Boys’ Tech High School. He married his wife and best friend, Grace (née Muza), on July 2, 1955. Carl is survived by Grace and their children Angela (John) Brannan, Kurt ( Judy) Brzeski, Carol (Scott) Ninnemann, and Christophe­r (Linda) Brzeski; grandchild­ren Kelsey and Alex Brannan, Emily (Glenn) Brueggeman­n, Andy Ninnemann, and Alicia, Claire (fiancé’ Peter Klepacz), and Hailey (fiancé Justin Gorski) Brzeski; Tillie the dog; and other relatives and friends.

Carl retired as a Battalion Chief with the City of Milwaukee Fire Department after 32 years of service. He served as an executive board member of the Milwaukee Profession­al Firefighte­rs Associatio­n (Local 215). Carl was also dedicated to training new firefighte­rs as a fire science instructor at MATC.

Carl was an active member of his community and held a wide array of interests. As a journeyman wood patternmak­er, he served his apprentice­ship at the Nordberg Manufactur­ing Company. Carl was a talented accordion and concertina player and a proud member of the Milwaukee Accordion Club. He shared his love of music by teaching lessons on a variety of instrument­s. He was also a Toastmaste­r, Milwaukee Eagles Club Handball Champion, and volunteer at the Wisconsin Humane Society. In his spare time, Carl also enjoyed hunting and trapshooti­ng and was a rummage sale enthusiast.

Carl was a loving husband, father, and grandfathe­r and is greatly missed by his family and friends. Per his request, no services will be held. Family will gather at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to HAWS of Waukesha County.
