Daniel Clark Higgins
MEQUON - D. Clark Higgins passed peacefully on January 27, 2024, in Mequon Wisconsin.
Born May 1, 1935, in Athens, Ohio to Frances A. (Clark) Higgins and Francis D. Higgins, Clark graduated from Ohio University in 1957 with a BS in Commerce. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta, and while in school participated in ROTC and played trumpet in a dance band. After active duty in the US Army, Clark entered the Reserves and went to work at the accounting firm of Arthur Andersen & Co. In 1960 he passed the Ohio CPA exam. He rose through the ranks to become partner, and finished his work there by helping to develop Andersen Consulting / Accenture. In 1990, he was able to retire to pursue other interests.
Clark met Priscilla Newton at Ohio University. They were married for 64 years before her passing in 2022. They have two children, Nancy (Donald Quist, deceased), and Michael (Kathi). They have five grandchildren, H. Erin (Eric) Vigo, Mason Quist, Rachel Quist, Emma Quist, Michael Quist, and one great grandchild, Zelda Vigo. Family was important and they enjoyed spending time with them, providing their children and grandchildren with many wonderful opportunities.
Clark was an avid golfer and served as president of Ozaukee Country Club. Curling was another passion, and he served on the board of the US Curling Association as treasurer and president. In 1989, he chaired the World Curling Association Men’s and Women’s Championship Games in Milwaukee, WI. Clark and Priscilla enjoyed traveling and had many friends around the world.
Throughout his life Clark gave of his time to many organizations, sharing his accounting, organizational, and computer talents. These included the USCA, his churches, and Habitat for Humanity in Milwaukee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Priscilla, and is survived by his children, grandchildren, greatgrandchild, nephews, and their families.
There will be a Celebration of Clark’s Life at Crossroads Presbyterian Church, 6031 W. Chapel Hill Road, Mequon, WI on Friday, March 15, 2024 with a visitation at 2:00 pm until time of service at 3:00 pm.
