Heavy Metal

Bold and brassy, this jewelry line has struck a chord with Milwaukee’s coolest customers.

Civál is the name given to the archaeological site in Guatemala that was once one of the largest cities in the Mayan empire. So when sisters Sarah and Rae Frye were looking for a name for their jewelry line – which incorporates hammered metal disks and polished stone pendants not unlike those once worn by Mayan kings and queens – they chose CIVAL Collective.

We love their new fall line, which tempers cool gemstones with warm brass. To see some of their latest work, visit cival

collective.com, or check out the Walker’s Point storefront that they share with Brew City Salvage and Joint Effort Studio (524 W. National Ave.).
