SCHOOLHOUSE BEACH
Along a bay on the north shore of Washington Island, this partly sheltered swimming beach is a curving stretch of palm-sized white limestone cobblestones, worn smooth by the waves and shining bright in the sun.
LAVENDER FIELDS
The peak of lavender season at Fragrant Isle Lavender Farm & Shop during July and August is a fragrant, colorful excuse to cross to Washington Island.
CANA ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE

Early birds, head to Baileys Harbor or Rowleys Bay. Sundowners are great at Fish Creek's Sunset Beach Park or Sister Bay Marina.
CAVE POINT
Bordering Whitefish Dunes, this county park puts you right above incoming Lake Michigan waves thumping into its caves. Sunrises or even sunset-painted clouds add to the intensity of this view.
OLD BALDY
Atop the tallest dune in Whitefish Dunes State Park, this 93-foot observation tower overlooks Lake Michigan and its dunes as well as Clark Lake to the west.
