Milwaukee Weddings

Tying the Knot

-

TWO YEARS AGO, I was preparing for my own wedding in sync with the production of our 2020 Weddings issue. Two immense projects which, it turns out, made each other easier. I was spoiled to have so many ideas and resources come my way via the collective knowledge of our editorial team. We put the issue to bed, and two weeks later I said, “I do.”

This year’s Weddings issue is every bit as packed with tips, tricks and guidance to ease the stress of your big day. It was a privilege to recommend some of the things that made my own wedding special – like Judge Derek Mosley ( page 10), who led our heartfelt ceremony, a fish fry rehearsal dinner ( page 14), and the lovely ladies at Bay View Printing Co., who go above and beyond to create stunning invitation suites ( page 48).

Diving deep into the photo galleries of local weddings is one of the most inspiring aspects of building this magazine. After the long pause of the 2020 wedding season, 2021 brought weddings ripe with an extra year of planning – and it showed. On page 20, we feature six Milwaukee brides with a focus on the oh-so important dress they wore down the aisle. In our Ultimate Wedding Playbook ( page 47), we have curated recommendations for every aspect of your celebration. It’s a resource you’ll keep coming back to as your day draws near.

Congratulations to all of you soon to be newlyweds, and thank you for letting us be a small part of your planning. Tag us and share your own weddings – they’re never really out of our minds.

All the best,
