SHARP TUBE CUTTERS
Making neat holes in balsa and light-ply parts using a sharpened length of brass tube is nothing new, but I have had some issues sharpening them. Typically, I would chuck the tube in an electric hand drill and use a hobby knife to bevel the inside edge. The blade would sometimes hit a snag and fly across the workshop. A better, quicker, and safer way to sharpen the brass tube is to use a countersink bit. Securely hold the tube and countersink the inner edge with the bit in the electric drill. It’s very easy to do, and if the edge gets dull, you can quickly resharpen it again with the bit. Anthony Marcello, Brooklyn, New York
