FOAM CHOCKS

- Willis Jones, Chicago, Illinois

Frequently in my workshop, I’ve experienced a model rolling off the bench and causing some sort of damage to the model. Also, while driving to the field, I often hear the model plane rolling around inside my car. I devised a simple chock to hold the model in place while being worked on or during travel: I cut a 1-inch slice through an inexpensive swimming noodle to make a ring. This naturally closing chock has the perfect opening, which closes around each wheel, allowing it to fit snugly on the wheel and prevent the plane from rolling.
