Soldering Stand

-

I am a cheapskate when it comes to buying tools. I was looking online for a holding fixture to hold wires while soldering and I thought I could build one just as good from scraps in my workshop. I used ½-inch plywood, and two 4-inch-long screws, some washers, locknuts, and two wing nuts. I drilled two holes in the plywood base, threaded the screws into place and secured them with the lock nuts. I then slipped some old battery clips on top of the screws and secured them with the wing nuts. I also added some rubber “feet” on the bottom base’s corners so the screw heads would not touch the workbench. My soldering fixture cost about two bucks! David Williams, Buffalo, New York
