DRONES DOING GOOD
Often, drones get in the news for all the wrong reasons, so I hope you’ll find the drone operators and technology featured in “A Higher Purpose” as refreshing as we did. From preventing poaching to detecting landmines, there are some incredibly innovative and creative ways that uncrewed aircraft are making our world a better place.
Before you head out to the flying field, you don’t want to miss this month’s “Aerobatics Made Easy” column, which shows you how to fly a Cobra roll with a half roll up and a snap down. The detailed illustration and John Glezellis’s stepby-step instructions will make you look like a pro in no time!
Our featured construction plan is the Fly Baby Bipe, a traditional balsa and ply electric park flier designed by Pat Tritle. With a 33-inch wingspan, this bipe’s the perfect size to stash in your trunk for impromptu flights. If you build a Fly Baby (or any other plane!), please be sure to send us a photo of your finished model for “Pilot Projects.” (You can email it to MAN@airage.com or submit it on our website, ModelAirplaneNews.com.) We look forward to seeing and showcasing your projects.
I hope you enjoy this issue. If you have a story idea you’d like to see addressed in a future magazine, please email us at MAN@airage.com. Your feedback and comments help us continue to make Model Airplane News the industry’s premier RC airplane publication.
