With a designated builder and a designated pilot, who is also allowed to work on the aircraft, the aircraft in the Team category are static judged and fly four scored flight rounds. After their lowest flight score is deleted, the average is added to their static points for their overall score.

1st // Frank Noll/Mike Barbee // Beechcraft KingAir T-44A

After earning 98.000 points from the static judges, Mike’s 1/4-scale KingAir was flown by Frank Noll to earn a total flight score of 391.750. Built from Bob Patton plans, the 138-inch-span KingAir is powered by twin Kontronik electric motor systems, weighs 55 pounds and earned a final score of 196.458.

2nd // Kim Foster/Scott Foster // BAe Hawk

Built from a Tomahawk kit by Scott Foster, the team’s 1/3.5-scale Bae Hawk earned a static score of 97.667. Kim (Scott’s dad) using a JR 28X transmitte­r and a Powerbox Royal SRS radio system, piloted the 48 pound Hawk to a total flight score of 291.250. The Hawk has a 106 inch span, is powered by a KingTech K210 turbine engine and earned a final score of 194.750.

3rd // Mike Wolvin/Jim McDevitt // Goodyear FG1-D

Built by Jim McDevitt, the 1/4.5-scale Corsair has a 110-inch span and weighs 51 pounds. Painted in a 1946 National Air Races scheme, the FG-1D is based on a CARF Models design and earned a static score of 98.667, the highest static score in Team. Using a Spektrum DX-18 radio, Mike Wolvin flew the Corsair to a total flight score of 371.750. Powered by a Moki 250cc radial engine spinning an SEP 30x18 3-blade propeller the team earned a final score of 192.750.
