HOSPITALS, SYSTEMS Tampa (Fla.) General Hospital has made two nursing-related executive appointmen­ts, including the promotion of Janet Davis to the job of senior VP and chief nursing officer at the hospital. Davis, 52, formerly was VP of acute care. The new job is effective immediatel­y. Her predecesso­r in the CNO role was Kathi Sengin Katz. Tampa General also announced the appointmen­t of Veronica Martin, 41, to the job of VP and associate CNO. Martin will retain her responsibi­lities for the hospital’s women’s and children’s division, while assuming a larger role throughout nursing and patient care. … Bruce Christian was named CEO of Adventist Glenoaks Hospital, Glendale Heights, Ill., after having served as the hospital’s interim leader since July. Christian, 64, previously was president and CEO of Loma Linda University Medical Center-murrieta (Calif.) and came to Adventist Glenoaks, part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, when Brinsley Lewis left to be president and CEO of University Community Hospital-carrollwoo­d in Tampa, Fla. ... Elkhart (Ind.) General Hospital and Memorial Health System, South Bend, Ind., named Jeff Costello as CFO of their newly combined system. Costello, 48, joined Memorial in 1985 and has served as CFO since 1995. The merger with Elkhart General was announced in March and made official in November. … St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Brighton, Mass., hired Nathan Howell as COO. Howell, 38, most recently was COO for Easton (Pa.) Hospital. At St. Elizabeth’s he replaces Philip Cormier, who left the Steward Health Care System hospital in November, a hospital spokesman said. INFORMATIO­N TECHNOLOGY Perigen, an obstetrics informatio­n technology company based in Princeton, N.J., named Matthew Sappern CEO, effective immediatel­y. Sappern, 45, succeeds Donald Deieso, a former chief executive of Perigen who last year joined Arsenal Capital Partners, according to the private-equity firm’s website. Deieso stepped down from Perigen in August 2011, a Perigen spokesman said. Perigen’s president and CTO, Mike Pritts, had served as interim head of the company, the spokesman said. Sappern previously was senior VP of client sales at Allscripts. QUALITY Roger Holstein will succeed Kerry Hicks as CEO of Healthgrad­es, a Denver-based healthcare ratings company. Hicks has held the CEO position since founding the company in 1999. Holstein is a managing director with Vestar Capital Partners and has chaired the Healthgrad­es board of
