N.y.-presbyterian takes a star turn
Outliers always enjoys a nice medical drama, and a new eight-part TV series focusing on New York-Presbyterian Hospital looks like it can deliver.
It’s got drama: “That leg’s got to come off,” says one physician during the preview for “NY Med.” It’s got celebrities: “It’s sort of like being the mayor, I think. You’ve got to say ‘hi’ to everybody,” noted heart surgeon and TV personality Dr. Mehmet Oz tells the camera.
The series, which is set to premiere July 10 on ABC, is from the producers of two similar series about Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore and three Boston area hospitals: Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Boston Children’s Hospital.
This series focuses on the Columbia University and Weill Cornell facilities that are part of the hospital, as well as Lutheran Medical Center.
