Tenet Healthcare Corp., Dallas, promoted Daniel Cancelmi to CFO. Cancelmi, 49, replaces Biggs Porter, who stepped down March 30 to become CFO of engineering and construction firm Fluor Corp. Cancelmi has been Tenet’s principal accounting officer since 2007 and senior VP since 2009. Thomas, 46, as president and CEO on Sept. 1. Thomas’ predecessor as CEO, Dr. Patrick Quinlan, 62, was named CEO of Ochsner Clinic Foundation and Ochsner International Services and executive director of the Center for Community Wellness and Health Policy, according to a news release. Michael Hulefeld, 39, takes over as COO of the system from Thomas, who already was serving as president. Hulefeld, who also gets the title of executive VP, currently is CEO of Ochsner Medical Center and New Orleans region. Rob Wolterman, 39 and CEO of New Orleans Community Hospitals, was named as Hulefeld’s replacement as CEO of Ochsner Medical Center, Ochsner’s flagship facility. Dr. Richard Milani, 57, vice chairman in the department of cardiology, was named to the new role of chief clinical transformation officer, and is charged with continuing to improve patient safety and quality at Ochsner, Thomas said.
