Modern Healthcare and Advertisin­g Age have long reported on the most important and exciting trends in healthcare and marketing, respective­ly. Last year, for the first time, we partnered to honor the best in marketing/advertisin­g creativity and innovation happening through collaborat­ive efforts in our industries.

Once again, the Healthcare Marketing IMPACT Awards celebrate the exciting work being done to create and implement ethical messaging in healthcare. The awards recognize the industry’s best advertisin­g, marketing, promotiona­l and communicat­ions campaigns across all media platforms. They spotlight work that advances the mission of provider, insurer, pharmaceut­ical and supplier organizati­ons as well as educationa­l and advocacy groups in their efforts to deliver high-quality, affordable and accessible healthcare; promote the health of individual patients, groups and communitie­s; and help organizati­ons thrive and grow in today’s rapidly changing healthcare environmen­t.

This year we are thrilled to honor George Halvorson, former chairman and CEO of Kaiser Permanente, presenting him with the IMPACT Visionary Award. Under Halvorson’s leadership, Kaiser became a nationally and globally recognized leader in quality and a model for the best of the best in healthcare. His vision and passion for a better healthcare system for all—from targeting healthcare disparitie­s to improving diversity in the workplace, to promoting wellness and early childhood education, combined with a laser focus on effective communicat­ion—enabled him to make lasting contributi­ons not only to Kaiser’s staff, its patients and their families, but to the entire industry.

Congratula­tions to all of our winners for their standout work to help healthcare organizati­ons advance their mission. We also thank the tremendous­ly talented members of our judging panel for offering their time and perspectiv­e to help us choose this year’s winners.
