Edward Lamb was named president and CEO of Mount Carmel Health System in Columbus, Ohio, part of Trinity Health, effective in November. He replaces Claus

von Zychlin, who stepped down in February shortly after he was diagnosed with myeloma.

Lamb, 59, most recently was president of the western division of Iasis Healthcare. Previously, he was president and CEO of Corpus Christi (Texas) Medical Center, an HCA affiliate. He also was president and CEO of Charter Hospital-East Valley in Chandler, Ariz.

Lamb is currently chairman of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Utah Hospital Associatio­n’s board.

Kevin Schoeplein, CEO of OSF HealthCare based in Peoria, Ill., will retire at the end of 2017 after five years as the head of the system. Bob Sehring, current CEO of the system’s central region, will replace him. Sehring will become COO on Jan. 1, 2017, and work alongside Schoeplein for a year to ensure a smooth transition.

Schoeplein began his career with OSF in 1978 as an assistant administra­tor of St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. He has held various leadership roles at OSF including president and CEO of OSF HealthPlan­s and executive VP of the system.

Sehring joined OSF in 2002 as VP of business support services for OSF HealthPlan­s. He has also served as CEO of ambulatory and accountabl­e care for the system.

Dan Parod has been named COO of St. Mary’s Health in Evansville, Ind. He succeeds Gwen Sandefur, who left St. Mary’s to serve as COO at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Parod most recently was senior VP and COO of Rockford (Ill.) Health System.
