Pri­mary-care ap­proach holds prom­ise if the sav­ings are passed along

Re­gard­ing the ar­ti­cle “Bellin Health builds pri­mary-care teams to boost physi­cian, pa­tient sat­is­fac­tion” (Nov. 12, p. 30), if the sav­ings from the im­proved co­or­di­na­tion, en­gaged pa­tients, etc., could be passed along, the fi­nan­cial im­pact of re­duced high-in­ten­sity costs would be sig­nif­i­cant.

This pro­gram put the docs and the or­ga­ni­za­tion at fi­nan­cial risk based on the rev­enue model in place. Who har­vested the eco­nomic gain from im­proved care and how much?
