The cries for help about the over­whelm­ing amount of in­for­ma­tion are be­com­ing more clear, and the need to de­velop so­lu­tions is be­com­ing more clear. The prob­lem isn’t the EHRs—the prob­lem is too much in­for­ma­tion, and it’s go­ing to take algorithms and com­put­ers, it’s go­ing to take soft­ware an­a­lyz­ing the data to help us process it. Be­cause of the (clin­i­cian) burnout is­sues, you are also go­ing to see more and more places work­ing to im­prove the way tech­nol­ogy is be­ing used to ac­com­plish pro­cesses that used to be done one way, fix­ing things that are dys­func­tional or not at their best.
