I don’t fore­see any­thing rad­i­cal hap­pen­ing, but I do see the con­tin­ued move­ment to­ward more so­phis­ti­cated man­age­ment of the to­tal cost of care through risk-shar­ing, bun­dled pay­ments and value-based pay­ments. Un­der­neath that is con­tin­ued fur­ther in­te­gra­tion of clin­i­cal and fi­nan­cial peo­ple within and across or­ga­ni­za­tions.

I think you’re go­ing to see a big­ger push to­ward con­sumerism and specif­i­cally price trans­parency. The CMS is re­ally go­ing to fo­cus on mov­ing to­ward un­der­stand­able, con­sumer-level price trans­parency.

There’s a lot of frus­tra­tion, a lot of emo­tion. There’s a tremen­dous amount of ven­ture cap­i­tal money flow­ing in. That adds up to an en­vi­ron­ment that’s ripe for some big bomb­shell of a deal. You re­ally can’t pre­dict what that’s go­ing to be.
