A dozen health systems
have joined the effort to produce a stable supply of generic drugs. Civica Rx, the generic-drug company spearheaded by Intermountain Healthcare, SSM Health and Trinity Health. Ascension is no longer part of the endeavor. Civica Rx now includes 750 U.S. hospitals that will band together to produce the drugs. The newcomers are Advocate Aurora Health, Allegheny Health Network, Baptist Health South Florida, Franciscan Alliance, Memorial Hermann Health System, NYU Langone Health, Ochsner Health System, Sanford Health, Spectrum Health, St. Luke’s University Health Network, Steward Health Care and UnityPoint Health. Civica Rx plans to bring 14 hospitaladministered generic drugs to market sometime this year.
