Florida hospital, health system formally join Cleveland Clinic
Indian River Medical Center and Martin Health System are now both part of the Cleveland Clinic health system. The moves are part of the clinic’s strategy to build a system in Southeast Florida, stretching from its main campus in Weston.
In October, when the acquisitions were initially approved, the clinic announced it had committed to investing at least $250 million in Indian River Medical Center in Vero Beach over the next decade.
Also in October, the clinic announced it planned to commit $500 million over five years into Martin Health System, a three-hospital system based in Stuart.
According to a news release, Indian River Medical Center and Martin Health will “continue all current operations, services and programs and patients will continue to see their same physicians and providers. All procedures and outpatient appointments will proceed as scheduled.”
