Cincinnati-based TriHealth is an integrated health system that operates five hospitals in the metro area as well as more than 130 other care sites.
Under board and executive leadership, TriHealth has:
■ Achieved a 98% increase in the year-over-year hiring rate for people of color.
■ Filled 70% of senior leadership openings with women or people of color over the past 18 months. In addition, in three years, minority and women representation on the system board increased by over 300% and 150%, respectively, growing from 10% to 33.3% of the board comprising minorities, and from 20% to 33.3% women, respectively.
The Cleveland-based academic health system includes a large quaternary medical center, 23 hospitals, including a children’s hospital, and more than 50 health centers.
Under the direction of the board and executive leadership:
■ 72% of UH leaders are promoted from within; succession planning and leadership development programs focus on building diverse pipelines of talent.
■ The UH Women’s Consortium has prioritized the advancement of women executives as a current initiative.
■ The Step Up to UH program recruits chronically underemployed individuals for workforce-readiness coaching and the UH Health Scholars Program assists underrepresented high school students interested in pursuing careers in medicine.
The Marietta, Georgia-based health system is one of the largest in the state, operating 11 hospitals, more than 300 physician offices and nine cancer centers.
Under board and executive leadership, Wellstar has:
■ Created two of councils that help ensure Wellstar provides safe, high-quality care and service to all patients; supports health equity initiatives for underserved communities; and works to attract, hire and retain top diverse talent that mirrors the communities they serve.
■ Joined the Metro Atlanta Chamber’s ATL Action for Racial Equity initiative, which partners with more than 240 Atlanta-based companies to advance racial equity in four areas: advancing Black talent; championing inclusive economic development; expanding access to quality education; and investing in workforce development.
