’69 CHARGER DAYTONA: 440 MAGNUM, AUTOMATIC WITH C16 CONSOLE, R4 RED WITH WHITE STRIPE AND WING

Mopar Muscle - - Greetings From The Grave -

This car was discovered in a barn — a true barn find. When our client Tom “Uncle Fester” Partridge bought the car, he quickly contacted me to see if I’d be interested in helping him bring the legend back to life. Tom is a great guy. I give him a hard time because that’s my job, but at his core he’s a true car guy with a huge heart. Building this car for him was fun, but also challenging. Tom worked with us on a very tight budget, so several times he would come out and work on the car himself to save money. Back then, we could do that because we were small and not overly organized, so we could use the help. Fester had the engine built by a local guy in New York, where he lived. It isn’t the numbers-matching original, but it’s date-code correct. The car turned out fabulous and was shared with the world in seasons two and three. Specifically, episodes 12 and 13 of season three cover the restoration in some detail. If you’re ever in Angola, New York, watch for “Cueball’s” Daytona and be sure to remind him he’s bald. No, seriously, he looks like a big toe.
