Missing Remus man’s family hard at work
More than a week after he went missing, family members believe a Remus man suffered a mental breakdown and are offering a reward for information leading to his safe return.
Richard “Rick” Wymer, who also has ties to Gratiot County, was last seen leaving his Remus-area home in a 2000 gray Chevrolet Suburban with a loud exhaust.
He’d been shoveling snow that Sunday morning before he headed toward M-20 and vanished.
Family members have since offered the reward and are using social media to keep the missing man in the public’s eye.
“Let me tell you about the family behind the post,” said Jennifer Wymer on Facebook. “It’s a wife who’s heart is shattering that’s trying to be strong for her kids. It’s kids whose lives are shattered
trying to be strong for their mom.”
Wymer left without his wallet, with no cash and no identification or credit cards. He does not have his blood pressure medication and also left his phone.
“Our family, four state troopers and a detective have been frantically searching for him since,” Jennifer Wymer said.
“Someone had to have seen him, somewhere.”
Wymer’s vehicle has a Harley Davidson Trump sitcker on the back window, a camo MAGA hat on the dashboard and an NRA sticker on the side window.
Richard Wymer, who is 70 but looks younger, is 6-feet-2, has long silver hair, full beard, blue eyes with a muscular build.
