Do not sign any recall petitions. Here’s why.

-

Citizens of Alma elected City Commissioners to make decisions about city policy. That’s what we elected them to do and that’s what they did.

If you want your vote to count, they must be allowed to make hard decisions, even if you disagree with them. They were elected, not you or me. I almost feel like the slogan “Stop The Steal!” applies here.

There’s uproar all over our country about Voting Rights and Restrictions, over gerrymandering, election funding, etc.

The rezoning of Warwick Living Center to house immigrant children (who, by the way, are NOT illegal) has turned into one of these issues. Will our votes, which fairly elected the Alma City Commissioners, count for anything? Can these folks be recalled for doing exactly what we elected them to do? A bunch of angry people think they can and should be booted out of office, making meaningless the votes of Alma residents who chose them.

Do not sign these recall petitions! I want my vote to count! Do you?
