10th annual Jingle Bell run on tap Saturday

Participan­ts of all ages are invited to take part in several races on tap Saturday morning during the 10th annual Alma Jingle Bell Run.

Registrati­on begins at 8 a.m. at the St. Mary’s School gymnasium, 220 W. Downie St. with the races starting in adjacent Wright Park.

A 5K run and walk and 10K run begin at 9 a.m. with the Kid’s Reindeer Trot, about 100 yards long, starting at 9:40 a.m.

Those entering the longer races will receive a longsleeve shirt, jingle bell and finisher medal.

The cost to enter the 5K is $30 and $35 for the 10K.

Those taking part in the

kid’s event will also receive a long-sleeve shirt, jingle bell and a pair of reindeer antlers. The cost to enter is $15.

The overall male and female 5K and 10K race winners will receive an Alma themed tumbler and a $25 Gratiot Area Chamber of

Commerce gift certificat­e.

There are several age groups for both males and females to compete in. They are: 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 2529, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45,49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80 and older.

Those who wish to sign up in advance can do so online at runsignhup.com, which can also be accessed on the Alma Action Associatio­n Facebook page.

Registrati­on can also be done from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Alma Hardware during the 20th annual Come Home to Alma for the Holidays celebratio­n.
