Fall in love with ‘She Loves Me’ at Midland Center

The Midland Center for the Arts presents the musical “She Loves Me” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 10-11, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12. Starring Erin Whitfield and Steven P. Holty, the romantic musical, with book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, tells the story of two antagonist­ic shop clerks who don’t realize they are secret pen pals falling in love. Based on a Hungarian play, the story has been retold many times, including in the 1940’s “Shop Around the Corner,” starring Jimmy Stewart and Margaret Sullivan, and the 1998 movie “You’ve Got Mail,” starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan.
