Theresa Gross, 90, of Beal City, passed away Friday, December 17, 2021, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. She was born October 6, 1931, in Nottawa Township, Isabella County, Michigan, daughter of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Schumacher) Vogel. Theresa was valedictor­ian of her Beal City High School class in 1949 and took home the honor of Isabella County 4-H Dairy Queen. She married Raymond Gross on April 11, 1953, at St. Philomena Catholic Church in Beal City. Before having children, she worked for the credit union in Mt. Pleasant. As her family grew, she became a full-time homemaker. Theresa was a lifelong member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish in Beal City, member of the Altar Society and CCW, advocated for Right to Life (even traveling to Washington D.C.). She had many close friends, loved her family and her faith. She was a very important part in the daily operations of the farm. Theresa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmothe­r, and great grandmothe­r. Her sweet, kind, gentle way and constant smile will be missed by all who knew

in her life. She was a beautiful “lady” both inside and out. Leaving a true legacy of faith to her family. Theresa is survived by 13 children, Ann (Stan) Pasch of Lake Leelanau, Sue (Dan) Boss of Suttons Bay, and Ken (Lauralyn) Gross, Gary Gross, Bob Gross, Jane (Dennis) Bechtel, Julie (Rich) Faber, Donna (Brock) Horsley, Laurie (Brian) Schafer, Dan Gross, Dave Gross, Pat (Heather) Gross, and Mark (Krista) Gross, all of Beal City; 35 grandchild­ren; 20 great grandchild­ren; siblings, Joe Vogel, Steve (Corrine) Vogel, and George (Judy) Vogel; in-laws, Carol (Richard) Wood and Katie Vogel; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Elizabeth Vogel; husband, Raymond Gross; son, John Gross; and siblings, Harold Vogel, Earl Vogel, Ervin Vogel, Luella Marx, Norman Vogel, Jim Vogel, and Carl Vogel. A Funeral Mass for Theresa will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with Father Thomas Held as celebrant. The family will receive friends in the gathering room of the church on Monday from 4-7:30 p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday one hour prior to Mass. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, concluding with a luncheon at the Beal City Knights of Columbus Hall. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to St. Joseph the Worker School.
