Last weeks’ action: Mt. Pleasant High School’s girls and boys both recently captured wins over Saginaw United. Leading the Oiler boys was Angelo Porter (191,181), Nick Baker (175)) and Dane Sampson (167). The Oiler Girls were led by Jaylinn Johnson (143, 142) and Katelyn
Pope (124).
In addition, the inaugural debut of the MPHS JV team against Breckenridge was also successful, led by Jeremiah Toney with a 162, Evan Mills with a150 and Matt Baker with a 143. (Submitted by Becky Pope)
The Saturday Youth league will start its second 10-week session on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 9:30 a.m. This is an excellent time for additional youth bowlers to join in the fun!

Mid-michigan area tournament bowlers
Local teams have entered the MS USBC Open tournament in Livonia/westland for Feb. 5-6.
I’ve contacted bowlers involved and will collect any remaining tournament fees. If you haven’t been contacted, but are still interested in joining us, there may be a couple spots that remain open.

Local notables
Last week, in the AJ’S Tax Trio Draft league at Riverwood Lanes, Jason Lewis recorded his fourth career 300 game, along with his third career 800+ series with games of 300256-259 / 815! Then, on Monday night in the Monday Mixed league, Jeff King recorded his sixth career 300 game, along with his fifth 800 series. Well done, my boys, well done INDEED!
