Elks serve free Christmas dinners
The Alma Elks Lodge offers free Christmas dinners from noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 25 at the lodge, 610 W. Warwick Drive, with a dine-in option starting at 11:30 a.m. Take-out dinners will also be available as well as delivery for those who are homebound. The lodge has been providing the free Christmas dinner for more than a decade, according to club manager Teresa Butcher. It’s for those who can not afford to prepare their own meals, have no place to go for the holiday or just want to share a meal with others. Volunteers at the lodge usually serve more than 200 meals, Butcher says. “The dinner is free but we do accept donations from those who can afford it,” she adds. Visit bit.ly/3egu251 for details.
