10 . Alma wrestling pins down spot in semifinals

The Alma wrestling team had arguably its best season in program history in 2021 as it advanced into the Division 3 team semifinal round before bowing out.

The Panthers won numerous titles along the way, claiming the conference crown and district crown and regional crown en route to the team finale. For the season they went 22-4.

In the team quarterfinal round the third-seeded Panthers bested Freeland 44-21 to advance to the semifinal round. In the semifinals they fell to second-seeded Whitehall 3729 to close the season out.

Individually, four Panthers earned All-state honors at the individual finals as Dominic Anguanio (119) and Dametrius Castillo (145) both landed runner-up while Jacob Munger (160) was fifth and Solomon Rosales (140) was sixth.

The Panthers return a ton of talent this season and will be a team to watch going forward.
