Central Michigan University will be requiring the COVID-19 booster shot for staff and students to have a fully vaccinated status.

On Wednesday, President Bob Davies sent a letter to campus that outlined COVID-19 protocols and updates.

While staff and students aren’t required to get a COVID-19 vaccine, anyone on campus who’s not vaccinated must submit to weekly COVID-19 testing.

Those in the campus community have until Jan. 17 to receive a booster shot and to update their vaccination status on the COVID-19 Health Screen app.

If they don’t do that then they must still submit to weekly testing. CMU also encourages everyone, regardless of vaccination status, to be tested for COVID-19 before returning to campus for the spring 2022 semester.

The current policies and guidelines will remain in place.
