Free local veterans legal clinic offered
Two local lawyers will once again be offering a free legal clinic for area military veterans.
Attorneys T.J. Pierce and Kyle Decloux, of the Clare law firm Decloux & Pierce Law, have scheduled the clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28 at Alma VFW Post #1454, located at 1302 Wright Ave.
It’s open to all U.S. military veterans in Gratiot, Clare and Isabella counties and their surviving spouses.
Those who attend will have the opportunity to meet with an attorney to discuss legal matters pertaining to veterans. They also must sign a document agreeing to certain terms and conditions of the clinic and that no attorney-client relationship will be formally established.
Pierce, a St. Louis native, and Decloux, both U.S. Army combat veterans, have been hosting legal clinics in mid-michigan since last summer.
The pro bono meetings are modeled after clinics held at the Grand Rapids VA homeless Service Center, where Pierce volunteered
while attending Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
