Man accused of robbing dealership with pellet gun
A 20-year-old Mt. Pleasant man was arrested in Bay City Wednesday, accused of robbing a Mission Street car dealership with a gun that turned out to shoot only BBS.
The man, who was expected to be formally charged Thursday, is accused of brandishing a gun at Right Way Auto, 1119 S. Mission St., at approximately 9:55 a.m. Wednesday and taking a car from the lot, according to a Mt. Pleasant Police Department press release.
Employees at the dealership provided police with a description of both the suspect and the car he drove away in.
Police issued a “Be on the Lookout” notification to nearby law enforcement agencies.
A short time later, officers with the Bay City police department arrested the man without incident, the press release said. They also recovered a BB gun from the car.
