Search for new CEO begins, updated job description posted
Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber
of Commerce directors are looking for a new president and CEO following the resignation of Douglas Wallace after almost two years at the helm.
Walllace, who started in mid-march 2020, resigned effective Jan. 28, chamber board chair Bart Blystone told members in an email on Thursday.
“We would like to thank Douglas for all his efforts in guiding our organization during very challenging times and wish him all the best in the future,” the notice said.
They said a search for a new president and CEO will begin immediately.
An updated position description has been posted at Indeed.com and interested applicants should submit materials there.
A committee of board members and chamber ambassadors will conduct the hiring process.
Wallace replaced Brett Hyble, who had led the chamber since 2013, and left for a position with Great Lakes Bay Michigan Works.
Wallace previously served as the vice president of membership development for the Plymouth Community Chamber of Commerce.
