Taste of summer on tap this week

-

Spring has seemed almost to skip the region altogether as midmichigan can expect to see temps in the 80s marching in this week.

In general, mostly dry weather is expected, which is very much welcome after a wet and chilly spring. Thursday and Friday will likely climb into the middle and upper-80s, with readings approaching 90 a possibility. Low temperatures will be in the 50s to lower-60s all week.

Thoughh the humidity is not likely to get out of hand, it may feel muggy at times. For all that, this week will offer a first taste of summer.

Here’s how the week ahead is shaping up:

Today will be pleasant and warm with highs in the mid-70s under partly cloudy skies. It will be a breezy as well with southsoutheast winds 15 to 20 mph and gusts up to 35 mph. Tonight, partly cloudy skies will continue as lows drop into the lower to middle-50s.

Tuesday will be even warmer with partly cloudy skies and humid conditions with highs in the upper-70s and lower 80s.

On Wednesday, again a mix of clouds and sun is expected with highs in the lower to middle-80s.

The forecast remains dry and very warm on Thursday and Friday with highs in the 85 to 90 degree range.

Temperatures start to cool down slightly for the weekend, but temperatures are still expected to be in the 70s and 80s. It’s also not until the weekend that the next best chance for showers and thunderstorms may appear.
