Rosebush, area hit by storms, temporaril­y closing roads

The Isabella County Road commission issued a travel advisory Wednesday afternoon after heavy rainfall associated with a string of storms that rolled through Isabella County flooded area roads.

It brought several inches of rain and pea-sized hail to Rosebush, where the heavy rains caused flooding on Old Mission Road north and south of the village.

Cars pulled off the side of the road to avoid the storm starting at Old Country Market at the corner of Old Mission and Beal City roads, and stretching up into the village proper. The parking lots of the Shell gas station and Rosebush Farm Market.

The flooding wasn’t confined to the Rosebush area. John Pedjac, Denver Township supervisor, posted that a number of roads in Denver Township were temporaril­y impassable due to flooding.
