SHA’S Hartman joins elite club with 800th

One hundred wins is a lot. Five hundred wins is more than a lot.

But 800 wins, my that’s a lot lot.

On Saturday afternoon longtime Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy baseball coach Earl Hartman claimed his 800th career victory via a 12-0 win over Coleman.

With the win Hartman became just the 10th-prep baseball coach in state history to reach 800-career victories as he sports a career marker of 800-396-1.

Hartman currently ranks 10th all-time is career wins. Gary Cook (Jenison 1978-2008, Grand Rapids West Catholic 2011) ranks ninth with 801 career wins.

Only three active coaches boast more victories than Hartman.
