‘Sister Act’ raises the roof in Alma

The Gratiot County Players will present the musical comedy “Sister Act” May 13-15 and May 20-22 at 217 E Superior St, Alma.

The Tony-nominated musical follows disco diva Deloris Van Cartier as she’s put in protective custody after witnessing a murder. Disguised as a convent nun, she finds herself at odds with both this rigid lifestyle and uptight Mother Superior. Using her unique disco moves and singing talent to inspire the choir, Deloris breathes new life into the church and community but, in doing so, blows her cover, but is helped through the power of her newly found sisterhood.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 13-14 and May 20-21; and 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, May 14-15 and May 22-23. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, and $8 for kids 14 and and under.
