ST. LOUIS MAN INJURED IN CRASH

A 37-year-old man from St. Louis was severely injured Monday morning in a motorcycle­truck accident near the Ionia County village of Muir.

The man, whose name was

not released by the Michigan State Police, was riding a 2007 Honda motorcycle westbound on East Bluewater Highway (M-21) near Hayes Road when he was struck by a 2006 Dodge Ram at approximat­ely 9:42 a.m., according to an MSP news release.

He sustained serious injuries and was flown to a local hospital in a helicopter.

The St. Louis man was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Ram, a 36-year-old Muir man, was attempting to turn left across the

road and into a business when he struck the motorcycle. The Muir man was not injured.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Ionia County Sheriff’s Office, Life Ambulance, Aero Med, Lyons-muir Fire Department and Ionia County Central Dispatch.
