Gary M. Morrison, “Coach Mo” 81, of Coleman, died Saturday May 14, 2022 at Mymichigan Medical Center, Midland. He was born December 29, 1940 in Clare, Michigan the son of the late Gerald “Max” and Marguerite (Mcnerney) Morrison. Gary married Shirley D. Dunlop July 28, 1967 in Coleman. He served with the U.S. Army from 1963-1965.

Gary retired from the Dow Chemical Company in 1995 after 30 years of employment. He was a baseball coach to many generation­s; ranging from little league to Coleman JV. He was a fan of U of M sports, the Midland Daily News stat page and anything to do with Coleman Comets. He “knew” everyone he met and made an impression on many; he was known by some as a lightening rod. He loved being behind the wheel of his corvette; either on a road trip to St. Ignace or in the annual homecoming parade. Survivors include his wife Shirley of Coleman, children: Stephanie & Brad Rydman of Coleman, Clarissa & Brian Filhart of Clare, John & Ha Morrison of Jenison, grandchild­ren: Morgan & Maverick Filhart, Lucas & Miles Morrison, brothers, Bruce & Janice Morrison of Coleman, Patrick & Cindy Morrison of Batavia, IL, sister Mary Simon of Clare, brother-in-law Ted Mogg of Rosebush, many nieces and nephews. Gary was also preceded in death by his brothers Mathew and Michael Morrison, sisters Martha Morrison and Monica Mogg. Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday May 22, 2022 at the

O’laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., with Benjamen Evers officiatin­g. A private burial will take place at

a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu
